[tech] empty restored files [was: Re: [ucc-announce] UCC /home restored]

G'day

I found all of the recovered files that I was working on on Friday night in
mussel:/space/backup..., but none of them had any data in them.  The logs
had a lot of "salvage: No such device or address" error messages in them.
I noticed that this happened for other people too.
