Pah, of course they work with Linux. It's what they use for embedded
media appliances. As a marketing stunt, one HDTV vendor even sells a
card that _only_ works with Linux. ::-)

Some will, Strathfield has a $179 and a $249 DVD player that will play
MPEG-4 (though perhaps not all the variations on MPEG-4).
