Hi all,

As those of you tuned to your designated propaganda machine will have
noticed, we did some pretty serious upgrades today.

* Martello and Mussel had their operating systems and software packages
upgraded to the new prerelease Debian version (squeeze), including new
kernels (hence the reboots required) and OpenLDAP versions.

* Mooneye was put into the hardware of old Murjan, a Dell PowerEdge 2850
with dual dual-core 3.6 GHz Xeons and 2 GB of RAM. Four disks have been
set up in a RAID 6 and one kept as a hot spare.

The upgrade to squeeze was slight bumpy and there may still be some things
that don't work; if you discover something, please let your nearest Wheel
member know or email wheel at ucc.gu.uwa.edu.au.

We also managed to switch out the KVM for a different one and drink some
beer.

Thanks to [DJA] and [MRD] for their help today, and to [MSH] and [TRS] for
sorting some of the remaining issues out.
