It just went away and IPv6 packets are being returned with the above 
message.

Most programs handle failover to IPv4 well but there are some that don't 
(especially if there is more than one v6 address published) so I'm going 
to stop radvd and deconfigure IPv6 addresses on the main user servers for 
now.
