Hi all,

Thanks to [MTL] and others, UCC now has a new pair of DNS servers. The main
server is run on a new VM (monnik), with the fallback running on
murasoi, the
club network router.

We've already changed the DHCP server to hand out the new nameservers,
so all
machines that auto-configure their network settings should have picked
up the
new settings. We'll be migrating the statically-configured machines soon.

If you have a member VM that has a static network configuration, please
update
your nameservers to 130.95.13.2 (main) and 130.95.13.1 (fallback). On Linux,
you can do that by updating /etc/resolv.conf to something like the
following:

     search ucc.asn.au
     nameserver 130.95.13.2
     nameserver 130.95.13.1

The existing DNS server mooneye (130.95.13.9) will remain up for the time
being, but will be decommissioned in the near future. (Or, it may end up
decommissioning itself, because it currently has several drive pre-failure
warnings.)

If you notice any new issues with connecting to internet sites, do let us
know. Everything /seems/ to be working OK at this point, but teething issues
are always to be expected, especially with the change of DNS resolver
software.

Cheers,
James [MPT]
