
<html>Hi All,<br /><br />Just a heads up, Tec and I have now joined Magikarp and Mudkip to the Proxmox cluster, however we haven't joined them to the Ceph cluster yet, and at this stage, they probably shouldn't be.<br /><br />Currently, Magikarp has two 300GB SAS disks that are now in a RAID5 array (they were in a RAID0 before), with Proxmox still living on a 32GB SD card. The two 300GB SAS disks have racked up a lot of hours and read errors, however, but also passed an extended self test with no bad blocks, so interpret that as you will. I wouldn't recommend putting anything super important on them until we replace those disks.<br />We also couldn't find the elusive PCIe Optane drive that we got pretty hyped about, so there isn't any write-back cache yet either, however once we get something like this installed, I'd definitely like to see a Minecraft instance running on it, making sure it's regularly backed up of course.<br />Mudkip, on the other hand, has a single 500GB WD Blue for storage, and a 32GB SD card for Proxmox, meaning no redundancy with storage, so definitely don't put anything important on here.<br />I should also mention that I have replaced the faulty fan in Magikarp with a working one from my HP at home, as the eBay order for replacements still hasn't arrived after almost two months (I'll chase this up with thm again), so this shoud get things going in the meantime.<br /><br />Either way, if someone could please look into new storage for these hosts - that'd be awesome. Even if we get a whole bunch of (not too heavily) used SAS disks and an Optane or flash SSD cache, that'd be pretty cool. We can always move the data onto a RAID6 array if we're not confident enough in the disks for RAID5, but we need more disks first.<br /><br />Cheers,<br />Dylan Hicks [333]</html>
