<p>The machine has been left off.</p>
<p>I'll be in over the next couple of days, so can poke around for
info. But I don't want to do too much touching of the electronics.
What's the best way to go about emptying it whilst powered off?</p>

machine is that it's 110V. It has a large internal transformer to step
down from 230V to 110V. When I did the rebuild+service (8/9 years ago

anyone who could do it as a custom job, and certainly nothing off the
shelf that would suit. Knowing a little more these days, it might be worth
chasing someone who does coolrooms for a living to take a look at it.
If you think it might be the start capacitor then we should leave the
machine off until someone with a multimeter can check it out, though I
would have expected it to trip the circuit breaker if the motor were
stalling on startup. Could also be the thermostat relay contacts have
finally kicked the bucket, which would explain the intermittent operation.
Either way I think we should empty it of stock to make testing easy and
leave it off for now.

There was a faint odour of capacitor when I restocked it on Saturday.� Bob might have photos of the compressor from during the great rebuild.
Next time someone passes the clubroom if they can take a photo of the compliance plate; that might be helpful to identify what our replacement/service options are.
