<!DOCTYPE html><html><head><title></title><style type="text/css">p.MsoNormal,p.MsoNoSpacing{margin:0}</style></head><body><div>Hi folks<br></div><div><br></div><div>In the latest addition to the UCC Ansible SOE ( available at all good git repos and <a href="https://gitlab.ucc.asn.au/ucc-systems/ucc-ansible-soe">https://gitlab.ucc.asn.au/ucc-systems/ucc-ansible-soe</a> ), I've added a two new roles <br></div><div><br></div><div><span id="LC11" class="line" lang="yaml"><span class="s">roles/ucc_provision_idle_host</span></span><br></div><ul><li><span id="LC11" class="line" lang="yaml"><span class="s">Grabs the Debian Buster network installer ISO image</span></span><br></li><li><span id="LC11" class="line" lang="yaml"><span class="s">Modifies it a bit to add a Debian preseed file and makes that autoboot</span></span><br></li><li><span id="LC11" class="line" lang="yaml"><span class="s">Adds initial set of wheel keys, etc</span></span><br></li><li><span id="LC11" class="line" lang="yaml"><span class="s">Automagically creates / configures the VM on proxmox, boots, installs it, boots again</span></span><br></li><li><span id="LC11" class="line" lang="yaml"><span class="s">Installs a base set of software that folks are likely to want on a idle-host (let me know if something is missing)</span></span><br></li></ul><div><span id="LC23" class="line" lang="yaml"><span class="s">roles/ucc_mounts_autofs</span></span>
<br></div><ul><li>Based on [333] Dylan's excellent work learning autofs, created a ansible role to do mounts of /home, /away and /services as appropriate<br></li></ul><div>With this great power and great responsibility, I then proceeded to create two new UCC idle servers on our Proxmox cluster, idle-mudkip and idle-magikarp<br></div><div><br></div><div>Next steps are to blow away the existing idle-maltair and idle-medico servers and reinstall using the SOE.
