<p>The vive headset seems to have died after last VR night, and the
suspect is the HDMI cable from the link box to the headset. <br>
</p>
<p>We need to replace it, but it may involve replacing the power and
USB cables too? They are all bundled tidily together to make the
headset nice and managed. This may also be an excuse to replace
the flaking face shield and the head mount, to make it more
comfortable.</p>
<p>Current thoughts are looking toward something like the <a
moz-do-not-send="true"
href="https://www.amazon.com.au/HTC-VIVE-Deluxe-Audio-Strap/dp/B072586SVF/ref=pd_lpo_1?pd_rd_i=B072586SVF&psc=1">Vive
Deluxe Audio Strap</a> (or third party equivalents) to replace
the head mount and provide an audio solution that is more sanitary
than cheap headphones. New long HDMI cables, USB, and power
cables, all slim enough to fit into the headset and run to the
link box.</p>
<p>Or perhaps we move to the <a moz-do-not-send="true"
href="https://www.amazon.com.au/99HANN010-00-Vive-Wireless-Adapter-PC/dp/B07GKHNBCT">wireless
adapter</a>? Price is pretty high for this, could easily just
buy a Quest 2 for less money.</p>
