Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering
       The University of Western Australia
When: 11am, this Friday - the 15th
What: Adrian Chadd on Squid

Abstract:

My talk on squid will cover basic HTTP/1.1 theory, squid's internal design,
how squid interacts with the OS, other caches, clients and servers, and
current performance bottlenecks. A little OS/computer knowledge will be
useful in understanding my talk.

Depending upon the length of the slot I have, I can also cover some
basic content distribution ideas, if you think that would interest
people.

Adrian Chadd has been a squid developer for the past two years, and has
actively participated in its development over the past 18 months. Adrian
is also a new FreeBSD committer who will be concentrating on the VFS
(Virtual File System). Adrian has been abroad working for internet and
telecommunications companies in Europe for the past two years, and is
currently a Systems Engineer at Interxion Netherlands BV.
