Hello all,

Apologies to those who receive this multiple times.

Well, it's on again. We are gearing up for the fifth annual Cameron Hall
Charity Vigil, and it's time to start getting involved. Like last year,
we will be raising money for Youth Focus, a local charity who work to
prevent youth suicide, and we hope to raise more than the $1200 we donated
to them last year. We are also pleased to welcome UCS, who will also be
helping out this year.

To come along, you need to either:

- get a sponsorship form from Unigames, UCC, UniSFA or UWAnime (they
should be finished by this weekend) and collect at least $8
sponsorship

OR (the wimp option)

- pay $10 at the door (of course more substantial donations are always
  welcome ;).

Of course, the point is to raise money for charity, so you should all choose
the first option. Plus there will (probably) be a prize for the person who
raises the most for charity :) Note that anyone who sponsors themselves $8
just to save a couple of dollars will be subject to much scorn. And made to
read very, very bad fanfic.

We'd like to add in an additional plea here. Please try your hardest to
raise as much sponsorship as possible. We really want to beat last year's
total, and when you think about it, something like $20 is only $2 from 10
people.

The Vigil will be at Cameron Hall on Friday 17th September starting at 7pm,
and will continue into Saturday morning (assuming Risk Management plans
are accepted and everything is good to go). There will be plenty to keep
you occupied all night, including:

- Movies and anime! Two screens of the best pop culture money can download
or rent! Either in the UWAnime clubroom or on the HUGE TV in UniSFA.
- LAN gaming - mmmmm, Enemy Territory.
- Board games (Knights and Cities of Cataan, among others). If you suck at
anything requiring skill, someone might bring Snakes And Ladders if you
wish hard enough, and Unigames does have Hungry Hungry Hippos.
- Food. And Drink. Entry includes pizza for dinner and muffins for
breakfast. The fridges and machines of all three clubs will also be open
for business, with all proceeds going to charity.

The 17th is, at this stage, still a tentative date. If you have major
problems attending on the friday, let one of the Vigil subcommittee know.
If we get sufficient numbers of people unable to attend, we may switch it
over to the saturday (18th). If you have major problems attending the
saturday, let us know as well, just in case we have to consider a change.
However, if you can't attend, and we are unable to accommodate you, try
and get some sponsorship anyway. It's a good cause. ^_^

So, bug someone from one of the clubs to give you a sponsorship form, and
start collecting today.

See you all there,

NOTE 1: There is no note one. This may have something to do with Maelkann
being too lazy to renumber the notes.

NOTE 2: The Charity Vigil is a strictly _Alcohol Free_ event. (also, drug
free...)

NOTE 3: Hmmm. I wonder how observant people are out there. And how good
their memories are *grin*
