Hi all,
Just a quick invitation to an event I'm running at the UCC clubroom on
Saturday, August 24 starting at 11am.
This sort of day/night is usually a combination of crazy projects that
people want to work on, tutorials from people in the know, and work on
electronics/software projects related to UCC.
Bob (that's me!) is planning to bring in a heap of stuff from his work
like PLC's, steppers, cnc boards, safety relays, contactors, etc. and do
some demos. He is also willing to give people a crash course in PCB design
using eagle cad (if people want). We might be able to whip up a board for
the door reed switches or something. Again, if people want, we can run a
quick "how to solder and hot air solder" tutorial - this can largely be
driven by what the attendees want to do.
Meanwhile other things like arduino tinkering, machine room lighting
additions, coke machine buttons, coke machine lights, WHATEVER else people
want to do will be occuring. Bring in your project from home! Now is the
time to start ordering any parts and components you think you'll need, or
suggest parts and tools for the club to get. The organisers (that's me
too!) will make sure that all the tools are set up and available, with
project space too.
I belive the facebook event can only be seen by those in the UCC group, so
either join the UCC group on facebook, or drop me an email to let me know
you're coming. I'm also looking for some other people to help out -
particularly if you have electronics foo.
