Hey UCC,
Have you ever had a kettle die on you? Did your power adapter stop working
one day out of warranty, forcing you to spend a ridiculous amount on a
replacement?
At this event, we'll be focusing on the absolute basics of how to create,
break, and mend the simple circuits you can find comprising most equipment
in our modern world, at low costs.
We'll be giving a refresher on the basics of what sort of stuff an
electronic circuit can contain if you've forgotten since high school,
following with one or two tips for simple electronic circuits you can make
with our equipment right here in UCC, and finishing off with a focus on
learning to solder (the method used to join wires together) effectively and
safely (at least, effectively and safely ENOUGH) and testing circuits.
Please come on down, the more the merrier. If you have any simple
electronics you want looked at or repaired and don't have any other options
for, feel free to post about about it and we might use it as an example for
everyone to see how it's done.
So come on down, this Thursday from 3:30pm in the clubroom!
Given the content, I hope it should be clear that this is an introductory
event. If you already know how to solder, I would suggest attending for the
sake of providing assistance if we are short-handed, or if you have
relevant equipment, rather than attempting to reach greater heights of
mastery.
Kind Regards,
Roland Kerr
