Good Evening all,
UCC is currently seeking volunteers for our online Tech Talk series for
2020. If you have worked on a recent project or are knowledgeable on
something interesting worth sharing, please get in touch with committee
with a topic you would like to present on.
For our 2020 talks, we are particularly interested in presentations on
network administration or GPU computing, although if you're willing to
give a talk - anything Techy goes!
Topics of previous talks include:
* Founding a startup
* Software-defined radio
* 3D printing
* Linux administration
* Coding in radio astronomy
* Reverse-engineering code
If you think you've got an idea you'd like to talk about online as a
part of our Tech Talk series, please send committee an email with the
following:
* Your proposed title
* A short description of what your talk will focus on
* A bit of information on how you came to be involved with your topic
Our Tech Talks for this year are scheduled for the first Tuesday of
each month, run for about 45 minutes to an hour, and are recorded so no
one misses out.
UCC's second Tech Talk will be held on TUESDAY, MAY 5 AT 6:30PM. Dylan
[333] will be getting us started on the Domain Name System with his talk
'Dive into DNS: Basics, Buying, and Bind9 [1].'
Thanks to all who attended our first online Tech Talk for the year, 'How
To Use a Cheap SDR [2]_._' If you missed James' [MPT] talk - good news!
We recorded it for you [3].
For those keen to get involved - we look forward to hearing from you.
