Hey everyone!
University has started up again and UniSFA would like to welcome everyone to, or back to, our club! This email is mainly for our freshers, but our lovely older members may enjoy some of the information here, too.
Come Find Us
If you want to know what’s going on with our club, the first stop would probably be our facebook page! Just join up the private group and keep up to date on all our events and gossip and general sci-fi and fantasy things around Perth! https://www.facebook.com/groups/UniSFA/ <https://www.facebook.com/groups/UniSFA/>
Also,
We have a page specifically for our 2017 Freshers. If you want to meet other UniSFA Freshers and get more information abut events, this page is for you. It’s also where you can post whatever you want because this page is your page: https://www.facebook.com/groups/413130029029576/ <https://www.facebook.com/groups/413130029029576/>
Also,
Some of the appeal of our club is our weekly screenings! We have screenings in our clubroom most days of the week, as well as this year we will try and make more use of the new Club Collaborative Zone and their large screens. We’re always looking for new things to screen so if you can think of something you’d like to see screened (movies, TV shows, video games, something else) then tell a member of committee and we’ll probably screen it. And if you’re interested in seeing what’s going to be screened, here’s our separate screening’s group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/155873668177940/ <https://www.facebook.com/groups/155873668177940/>
Events
Fresher Welcome
Come down to the Matilda Bay Foreshore at 5pm on the 7th of March (Tuesday of week 2) for our Fresher Welcome! We’re going to be having a free sausage sizzle as well as fairy bread because Uni students are always hungry. As well as this, we’re going to have some fun ice breaker games down by the foreshore, then up to Cameron Hall for some Jackbox games. Never played a Jackbox game before? That’s okay, neither have I! It will be a fun learning experience for all of us. Join the Facebook event here: https://www.facebook.com/events/256754818112927/ <https://www.facebook.com/events/256754818112927/>
AGM
Our Annual General Meeting is on Friday the 10th of March (Friday of week 2) is open for everyone and we encouarage all new members to come along. It may seem long and scary, but it’s a lot of fun if you’re interested in the club. Freshers are really encouraged to come along and run for Fresher Rep of 2017! This event is in the Guild Council Meeting Room and if you don’t know where that is it’s okay, a member of our current committee will be in the clubroom to show people the way to the clubroom. Please come down: https://www.facebook.com/events/384837911908907/ <https://www.facebook.com/events/384837911908907/>
One Last Hello
The UniSFA Clubroom is open most days, so please feel free to come in to sit down in-between classes. I am typing this email in the clubroom, listening to some people discuss their units and other people discussing children’s books about animals wearing hats. Still more are using our new and improved cataloguing system to see if we have a specific book on our shelves and others are discussing screenings. If you want to be part of fun conversations and meet people, I hope you’ll be able to come to our clubroom and our events.
Thank you for joining UniSFA, and I hope I’ll see you all at the Fresher Welcome!
