UniSFA Committee Meeting 24/05/17
Attending: Edward, Natasha, Harry, Simon, Katherine, Finley, Jack and Kurt
Absences: Annique
Begin: 4:30
Due to Annique’s absence, Edward will be chairing this committee meeting.
1. Committee Reports
President
Annique sends her apologies that she is unable to come but here is her report.
Organised things with tenancy, will talk about that later. Sorted the things about the fridge book, have a meal plan for camp (need to do costing still), had wrap up to quiz night, will talk about that later as well. Much communication with club members. Weekend tenancy brainstorm with committee, other people can talk about that later (the notes I took are under this section). Bookclub was great, I was very excited. Bought some things for the fridge. Attended Alien marathon, got bogged down in uni work aaaaa. Attended danger 5, it was so good and everyone should watch it.
Vice President
Chatted to Casey on camp things, went to Alien marathon and movie which were more violent than expected, did some design for posters and completed the first aid course.
Secretary
I ran the bake-off and Bob Ross screening with Simon and we have beautiful artwork on our fridge now thanks to Edward. And we also have some irrelevant baking reviews. Went to several screenings which were good. I also created the word searches and found all of the colouring in stuff so I just need to print that off. And went to the clubroom meeting. I’m also going to the SOC meeting after this, help me please.
Treasurer
Went to first aid training, did the sunday clubroom meeting, applied for float for zoo event and will collect tomorrow, made a deposit of money from quiz
Librarian
Ran the final lucifer screening and people are excited for the second season, helped run baked goods and bob ross. Also had to do assessments but got to rag on John Howard.
Fresher Rep
Unisfa found her on tumblr and she interacted with some freshers. Some are chilling and some are failing but still alive.
OCM Report - Finley
The kids still like chilling with Finley and Jack is still alive
OCM Report - Jack
Danger 5 was pretty good, mainly chilling
OCM Report - Kurt
Is now first aid qualified and pretty much finished the design for the camp poster
2. Events
* Cameron Hall Quiz Night follow up
* The Handover documents are being made
* Subcommittee regulations are a success, finance (sorted), the notes that are particularly under unisfa (organisation, communication, and the role of the subcommittee)
* are making the handover document for next years
* profit for unisfa was $218 and the profit was split evenly between the clubs
* everything chill and wrapped up
* Cameron Hall First Aid follow up
* people got their first aid!
* Unisfa Goes Alien follow up
* Reorganisation of time would be best – we need to be aware of Cameron hall things going on, club adjacent as well as internal events. The attendance of our events depends on it
* Communication with those running the events is absolutely paramount
* External advertising for this kind of event – low entry
* future marathons - need to start earlier and finish earlier, make sure person running it can open the room or person opening the room will be there on time, more communication with people about how they want to run it and who will run it,
* De-Stress Pyjama Party
* we are organised for things,
* bring blankets, fairy lights,
* Unisfa Goes to the Zoo
* Harry has the float all confirmed,
* Exciting, post the worksheets leading up to the event (got a good response from the last one)
* Make sure advertising says $16, better to be pleasantly surprised - $16 but it may lower if we have more people.
* will check zoo page for any stuff happening
* finley is the other primary first aider
* Camp
* can now submit EMP, camp meeting with committee members
* Saturday after the zoo trip starting at 6pm there will be a camp meeting, no one is obliged to come but it is important
* Ed has completed most of the EMP but there are some things that need to be discussed like pricing with Harry and Committee members have to think about whether they’ll go or not.
* Kurt may not be able to come so he’ll send his advertising things for it.
3. Screenings
* Monday - Puzzle Video Games w/Edward
* Tuesday - Final Fantasy w/Tom and Simon
* Wednesday - Justice League: Doom w/Harry
* Thursday - Book Discussion w/Leah
* Friday - Danger 5 w/Theo
* Ideas about screenings
* Please start screenings at 5 if you can
* Can we restrict screenings to 1-2 weeks max, aside from one ongoing tv show at a time (with a preference for ones coming out atm).
4. Facebook Pages
* Google Calendar
* Can we update this further in advance with estimates of how long screenings will be going for
* Can we put events that are planned further than a week ahead
* Can we put large uni dates in there for people to see, or for people to get an idea of our events relative to these (exams, SOC meetings, committee meetings, unisfa endorsed events) - Finley will do this
* Screenings page
* Week three of the screenings transition – there has been some discussion on the minutes about this
* By next committee meeting, we will need to have made a decision about the screenings page and whether to keep it after the trial period
5. Advertising the Club and Events
* Posters and things
* Edward has made a draft poster for the clubroom events/screenings which will be updated weekly on the noticeboards
* Can we please go to see the professional for posters? could go to the guilt lady for it. Get a template and update it weekly.
* will go to her to see about the posters
* will not start until next semester due to exams/winter break
* Corin suggests the student snapchat - could look into adding events
* Corin has done some drawings for the corners of the posters.
6. Book Removal
Book Appeals

* Contemporary Writers by Kurt Vonnegut edited by Malcolm Bradbury and Christopher Bigsby

* A police thriller with a murder mystery. No fantasy or science fiction elements
* Motion to add to the Book Removal List - motion passes unanimously
