Let's try this again.

This is the email I mentioned in the committee minutes.

Personally, the first part smells like a Ting offer (maybe a little
sweeter), but the second part sounds like something really interesting.

Subject: Greetings + A Couple of Inquires Related to Digital Policy

Hi John,
My name is Tim Sondalini, i'm currently the VP for the UWA Politics Club, in addition to this I also work for the
Greens' Senator Scott Ludlam, a WA Senator who holds the party's Communications portfolio. I work for the Senator
because i'm keenly interested in digital issues and the Senator is probably the most progressive voice in the
Australian Parliament on the digital environment. I primarily develop small policy projects for the Senator and
keep a general eye out for important issues which the Senator needs to weigh in on.

I'm sending you this quick email because i've personally been interested in getting more involved with UCC and also
because the Senator is need of some help for a project. I have some practical coding knowledge but for this
particular task i'm hopeless. Thinking of who could potentially help i remembered the small website Ash Tyndall put
together which helped me with the lecture capture system. I know some of your members are interested in pushing for
good digital policy, and the UCC is full of awesome coders who might be able to help the Senator put the finishing
touches on a project. The project is largely to do with data basing and the Senator can offer a limited wage. It
will probably be under market prices for coders, but its at least something. Can you think of anyone who might be
interested in helping out?

Also, i wanted to scope out the University Computer Club's interest in holding an event in conjunction with the UWA
Politics Club involving the Senator in a relatively intimate discussion. Previously the Senator has presented a
lecture for the UWA Politics Club, but he is particularly interested in having a smaller, more dynamic event
related to digital issues. As VP i know that the Politics Club would not provide an ideal audience for this sort of
event, we tend to pull a crowd which is largely interested in Labor v Liberal discussions and don't really enjoy
discussing what's wrong or right about the current policies related to digital issues. Would any members of the UCC
be interested in this sort of event?

Apologies for the massive email, hopefully i'll speak to you soon.

Cheers,

Tim
