[committee] Inter-Faculty eSports 2019

Hi there!

I am Jill from UWA Sports, and am looking into the 2019 eSports event on the Inter-Faculty calendar. Last year we had an overwhelming response to the event, so we weren't able to say no to doing it again!

The event is going to be Wednesday 15th of May 12:00pm - 2:00pm, located in Cameron Hall. Going off the success of last year, and the growth for the other 2019 Inter-Faculty events, we would be estimating approximately 50 participants from 10 faculties come to participate in the event.

I have been gaining advise from Daniel, the Guild Sports Representative, as he knows a bit more about eSports than me and had participated in the 2018 Inter-Faculty event.

This year, we are looking to run a FIFA tournament, a Rocket League tournament and a League of Legends tournament. All three tournaments will contribute to the Inter-Faculty championship points.

For FIFA, we are wanting to set-up 1-3 consoles across the main wall that hosted consoles last year. We would be using FIFA18, and would source the consoles and games for each. We are looking at games being 1v1, and 10 minutes in duration, with this dependant on how many consoles we are able to source.

For League of Legends ARAM, we are looking for the centre tables of Cameron Hall to host the tournament, with participants using their own laptops. Although hesitant to have participants have to use their own laptops, we believe that due to the international-scale of the sport, that there will be many who already have it and would be wanting to see it at this event. The games would be 15 minutes in duration.

We are hoping that UCC would like to be a part of the event again, assisting UWA Sport and Guild with the implementation of the sports. Rocket League, at least from my opinion, worked great last year and allowed for more people to participate in the competition. The big screen meant that people were able to watch and cheer from the upper level, and encouraged spectators more than the other consoles. It really added to the environment! If UCC would be willing, we would love for you to take control and run Rocket League again in 2019.
