After talking to various people last night the following ideas where formulated
for morwong. The additional 9GB drive [TDH] has on order would be good for
/home. The current 4GB and 6GB we have for /home and /services could quite
easily be dumped on the external scsi bus and used for /services. AFAIK the
Logical Storage Manager (LSM) can be used to merge the two disks into the one
volume.

Amongst the other assets UCC has involves a 9GB drive in mussel. Due to
implimentation problems with mussel it seems somewhat unreliable dispite
all it's power. The 9GB is possibly waisted in mussel and a smaller drive
may suffice in its place. Assuming that a smaller drive can be found
economically then moving the 9GB into a storageworks brick and then expanding
/home over both drives would give copious quantitys (in the short term) of
space on /home. Additionally the greater numbers of spindles may increase the
speed a bit.

Funds permitting, it would be nice to take morwong up to 256MB. The memory
bandwidth on the machine will not small and the additional memory would
make it just that bit nicer.

So, apart from the obvious funds permitting, what are the technical and
operational problems with this plan?

See Ya
