I've never been aware of using any special settings in order to get
common Latin characters to work, though sometimes I have had to fiddle
around in order to get arrows and lines to work (I forget the name of
the control sequences or character set used for those). Maybe it's your
terminal emulator or fonts that are the problem?? I just tried morwong
and mussel under X they seem to display accented characters okay (I used
a pager, not mutt, on mussel, since mutt on mussel still doesn't work).

I usually still use 1.3.13i (since I've only tested my personal patches
to that version and haven't bothered upgrading) so parent-message still
works for me. What is the reason it no longer works (what is "limited
view")? (Just curious.)
