Adrian's suggestion:

* back up troppo and frenchie VMs;
* BLOW AWAY UBUNTU AS A XEN HOSTING PLATFORM. From Orbit. With dirty nukes.
  Its the only way to be sure.
* install something sane, like FC6 or FC7 (I haven't tested FC7 as Xen Dom0 though);
  maybe even just debian (trs has tested this in UCC.)
* start up frenchie/troppo VMs, hopefully not needing to restore from backup.
