Since all you're doing is moving heat instead of 'creating cool', it's
possible for the refrigerative cycle to get >100% efficiency. The AC
unit sucks up 0.75KW of power from the socket but using that energy to
drive its pump/fan it exchanges 2.25KW of heat from inside to outside.

2.25/0.75 = 300% efficiency, the commonly claimed figure is 400% or
4:1. I'm guessing this is because they assume all the heat from the AC
unit itself ends up outside? Most of the bulk is hanging outside the
window after all.
