Some other members have asked about the status of things, so I probably
should have cc'd it to tech@ yesterday. Better late than never...

Subject: [wheel] UCC Status Update

Hi All,

Here is the current status of things in the machine room:
-all racks have been unplugged and moved away from the windows
-everything below lorenzo in the right rack got wet, and I will try and write
them off for insurance
-mermaid and maaxen (sun v20z running windows) got wet (insurance). Matt and I
lifted maaxen off the bench today and it was dripping underneath.
-will try and write off security camera that was near the window
-both window mounted aircons are munted (insurance)
-portable aircon works, but as the electronics got soaked I will try and write
it off
-the room is still drying out, and the windows are boarded up as best we can
-looks like the left rack is fine
-hopefully the windows will be fixed tomorrow, and may require dismantling part
of the machine room roof to get to them
-if the windows get fixed on thursday, we can and should have martello and
mooneye back in the MR by Friday evening. Otherwise it will be another two
weeks before the people who can reroute it are back from leave...

Networking and power in the MR are back to square one, pretty much everything
had to be unplugged to move the racks. All the powerpoints appear to work
still.

note: most machines that got wet are _currently_ in a working state, so we
should back them up asap. The rain was pretty corrosive; any metal on the
project bench went rusty overnight, and the top of the filing cabinet is more
rusty than usual. We _really_ can't trust the machines that got wet.

The status of the clubroom is:
-wet, the carpet is still drying, and until the windows are fixed we can't open
them to prevent mould
-skylights have been patched over with steel plates
-glass shards all over the floor, can't vacuum til it's dry
-coblet, sidderrog, 4 HP P4's, 4 CRT's, 3 LCD's, several keyboards and mice,
two motherboards, a multimeter (smashed) and soldering iron all got wet
(insurance)
-our overhead fan is broken :(
-other clubroom boxes are in unigames, but they understandably want their
clubroom back by the weekend

In other news, the guild will be doing a bulk insurance claim, so we don't have
to pay the excess ourselves.
