These two machines have been "currently investigated" for the past six
months. Pinball is a 2.67GHz i5 with 8G of RAM - it has plenty of power
for what it's used for and definitely doesn't need replacing at this time.
Furthermore, in the time that it's delayed, the projects bench computer
has no graphics card.
The "leave it to committee" answer is pretty poor when you have a member
willing and able to do the replacement work immediately - I discourage
committee from taking the position that only committee members can do
things within the club. I also note that there is no action item for a
committee member to do the task anyway.
So, can committee please communicate with each other, perhaps via the
email lists for once, and come up with a better solution to this that is
faster than waiting for yet another committee meeting?
