After attending O'Day, I just want to say, Wow!

To all the freshers who signed up this year (you should all be
subscribed now), I want to welcome you on behalf of the 2005 UCC
committee.

These messages are applicable to both new and returning members.

-------------------
 Computer Accounts
-------------------
Only 41% of our new members have signed up for UCC computer
accounts. You can't use the UCC computers, networked drink and snack
machines, email, &c. without a UCC computer account.

Come up to the clubroom to get an account. You will want to ask a
wheel or committee member.

Wheel members look like this:

If you haven't yet found the clubroom, here are some directions:

------------------
 Fresher's Guides
------------------
We ran out of 2006 Fresher's Guides, so some late-signups were given
a 2005 Fresher's Guide. We're very sorry this had to happen, but we
underestimated the popularity of the UCC in 2006.

Electronic copies of the 2006 Fresher's Guide are available on the
web:
    http://www.ucc.asn.au/infobase/freshguide/index.ucc

There is also a printable "booklet" version that you can print
(duplexed) and fold to create your own Fresher's Guide.

 Events
--------
The events page is looking empty at the moment, because no one has
updated it yet, but we do have events coming up in the very near
future.

     March 2006
Su Mo Tu We Th Fr Sa

The Fresher's Welcome will be held from 7pm till 11pm on Friday the
10th of March in the Cameron Hall loft (it's above the clubroom, see
directions above). All members are invited to attend and welcome the
new members into the club. Pizza for new members is FREE, pizza for
old members is $5. Pizza ordering will happen early, if you're
tardy, you may screw up the headcount.

The Annual General Meeting is being held on Tuesday March 14th at
1pm (Common Lunch Hour) in the Guild Council Meeting Room (if you
don't know where this is, come to the clubroom first). The 2006
committee will be voted in at this meeting and all members are
welcome to attend. First year members should attend, especially if
they wish to be FRESHER REPRESENTATIVE for the club. An official
notice of the AGM and the agenda will appear at the beginning of
next month and an agenda for the meeting will be available from
Friday the 10th.

------------------
 Renewing Members
------------------
Members who need to renew their UCC membership can do so by coming
to the UCC clubroom and finding a member in committee, wheel or
door. We cannot promise to always have the correct change on hand.

Members who are abroad, busy or just plain lazy can download a
membership form and mail or fax it to us.

Mailing address is in the contact information linked above. Please
attempt to include payment if possible or arrange alternative
payment with the committee. To fax your form, please send to TRS at
his work:

    ATTN: James Andrewartha
    +61 8 9386 3404

Indicate on the form how you intend to handle payment.

All that is required is a sensible RSS or Atom feed and to contact
the Planet Master via planet at ucc.asn.au

Ok, that's about it for now. If you're interested in more general
UCC news, sign up to the ucc at ucc.asn.au mailing list

Otherwise, I look forward to meeting those of you I haven't met
during the next couple of weeks or at the Fresher's Welcome. For
those of you new to this whole Uni thing, it's not really that
scary, once you stop getting lost. The most important thing is to
remember that as well as to learn, you're here to have fun.
