Quiz Night
==========

The nerdiest quiz night of the year is on again! After last year's
runaway success, the UCC are holding a quiz night in conjunction with
UniSFA. Although we lost on raw scores last year, we definitely won on a
per-head basis. Don't let this happen again - come represent UCC!
Everyone is welcome, even if they've never heard of UCC (we promise many
fewer in-jokes this year).

When: Friday May 4th 2007, 7:30pm til late
Where: UWA Tavern (below UCC)
Cost: $5/head or $10 at the door

Tables of eight, or so, and you can always find a table on the night.
Purchase tickets from the snack machine or from your nearest friendly
committee member.

Microsoft Office Ultimate 2007 for just $75
===========================================

Microsoft's new version of Office, with much vaunted interface redesign
and a completely incompatible new document format, costs about as much
as the GDP of a small African nation. Unless, of course, you're a
full-time student, and want a legitimate copy of the top-of-the-line
edition of Office 2007 for just $75.

Here's how it works:

  1. Head in to the UCC clubroom, and look for the big bag of Office CDs
     on the coffee table. (You can also download the software from the
     website in step 3.)

  2. Pick up a CD, take it home, install it, ignore all the prompts
     about license keys and give it a go. The trial version is good for
     25 uses, which should be enough to decide whether you like it or
     would prefer the speed, ease of use and innovative capabilities of
     OpenOffice.org. Umm, yeah.

  3. If you WOULD like to buy it, head to www.itsnotcheating.com.au to
     purchase for AU$75 (unlimited license). Make sure you put in the 
     UCC's promo code, 'NELLY'.

Be Alert Not Alarmed
====================

Hardware belonging to the UCC has recently gone missing from inside UCC
computers. If anyone has taken something under a misunderstanding that
it was available for their use, we politely request that you return the
item. No questions will be asked. Alternatively, if you see someone
removing something from a computer (or the clubroom in general) and you
don't think they should be, challenge them (even if you're not a door
member). If you see something, say something.

UCC Polo Shirts
===============

The idea for UCC polo shirts that you could wear to work or possibly a
game of golf has been floated and we're looking for expressions of
interest. The design would most likely be a simple UCC logo embroidered
above the breast. Let us know what you think.
