[ucc-announce] Cleanup, LAN and Thefts

1. Clubroom Colonial Cleanup

A clubroom cleanup will be happening this Saturday, July 4th, start
from 2pm. All door members are expected to attend unless apologies are
given. All other members are encouraged to attend and any member
wishing to become a part of door might think of this as a good
opportunity to get some brownie points with the committee. Any member
who lends a hand will receive free pizza at the LAN!

2. Independence LAN

At the conclusion of the cleanup at 5pm the UCC will be hosting its
second LAN of the year. This time we are far more organized and we are
hoping for a far greater turn out. We know that the break can get a
bit boring so come on down to UCC and spend the night playing your
favorite game.

You'll need to bring your computer, a powerboard, some headphones, and
a LAN cable. You'll also want some money for pizza (unless you were
good enough to help out at the clean up). This is a free event!
Cameron Hall can get cold in winter, so you might want to bring along
a blanket or sleeping bag too.

Games to be played include (but are not limited to):
- Team Fortress 2
- Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory (free! and mirrored at UCC)
- Warcraft III: Defence of the Ancients
- Quake III Arena
- Multiwinia
- Freelancer

3. Thefts in the UCC

For those unaware, UCC was broken into again this last weekend on the
night of the 27th. The thief has taken our iMac, two towers, CRO,
toolboxes and a sum of money. There is currently a discussion
happening with regards to the theft and possible security improvements
that can be made. If you wish to take part in this discussion please

We were able to capture the thief on video and this has been given to
the police. We recommend that members do not leave valuables in the
clubroom and encourage our members to keep an eye out for any of the
above items that they may find at a price that seems too cheap to be
true!
