Dearest Committee,
I'm most disappointed in approach you have to an otherwise simple
'issue' and discussion which follows.
Formal sentence construction and a pretense of authority doesn't excuse
overreaction, nor failing to have a frank and direct offlist discussion to
firstly establish the claimed actions of members, secondly to properly
establish what happened from the secondary evidence of webcam history, and
thirdly to remember this club is actually built on the daily
experimentation and organic changes of members rather than a hierarchy
atop its perch.
The process has been just as opaque as the commiittee's operation through
the year, and committee should well remember their responsibilities are
to serve the members and ensure transparent leadership for the votes they
earned in lieu of members performing direct democratic intervention.
It is not permission to keep to an insular group and provide decrees. I
only hope that the club can remain as inclusive and open as the committees
I've been a part of way back when.
Heaven forbid an ancient machine which was deemed no longer fit for
purpose be repurposed as a properly functioning linux boot computer in a
club known for bucking the trend of running Windows anywhere and everywhere.
Leave the dramatics at the door on the way into tomorrow's AGM.
