[committee] Meeting notifications

Hi everyone,

It's clear to see this discussion could have been handled better. I believe
it is only reasonable to try and resolve this by starting afresh. I would
like to propose this matter be considered dismissed and any issues can be
raised again in an appropriate and respectful manner.
