Hello Club Committees,
UCC is looking into running a Interclub event, Artemis LAN, and would like to know if clubs are interested in being involved.
Artemis is a Starship Bridge simulator, designed to give players the same feeling as being on a Star-Trek style Command Crew. There are multiple roles within the game, often requiring multiple players to effectively command one vessel.
As a game, I believe its got a great cross-over between UniSFA, Unigames and UCC. It's a lot of fun to roleplay and The game itself is an homage to some classic SciFi series and themes.
In terms of running the event and accessibility, the game has a low technical requirements. I'm confident it will run on nearly any laptop. It is also fairly straight forward to run as a LAN, and requires no additional tech set up.
We've run an event like this before, once with other clubs and once with out. I've found that running this without other clubs didn't reach a critical mass of players. In addition, being able to have a UniSFA Vessel, or a Committee Vessel, or the Friends-Ship, really adds to longevity of the game, and adds a little friendly rivalry.
In short, this is a neat event, thats easy to run, and is in line with the themes for each of the clubs.
Regards,
