Hi committee,
Just forwarding on the latest mailout from Soc.
Of particular note, the question of disability access to Cameron Hall has
been officially acknowledged. Please see the response below if you are
interested.
Cheers,
James [MPT]
*UCC Vice President*
*Q: Will disability access come to Cameron Hall soon? *
A: This issue has been flagged and we understand how much of a priority is.
The higher ups in the Uni and Guild are also aware of this problem and we
understand the need for an elevator in Cameron Hall. It's a very costly
operation and requires a lot of bureaucracy, but I'm working on it and
chipping away at the Uni block.

*PROSH*
To all those involved in this morning's PROSH, you all looked amazing and
I'm so pleased to see everyone who came down for this worthy cause. As I'm
writing this, the Finance Desk is currently counting all the money from our
tins! For those who are sick but still came down to support their club or
the Guild, you're bloody champions but now it's time to look after
yourselves! Like everyone, I am wrecked so let's make sure we get enough
sleep tonight and stay hydrated because it's the best cure for a PROSHover.
*NEW STORAGE ALLOCATIONS: *
Any issues with these allocations, please send an email to me explaining
why it shouldn't be taken away/given to another club/a bigger space etc.

so if you have a problem, tell me quick!
To access your storage space, you can get a key from the GSC, you'll need
to return that key once you're done or incur a fine :)

Answers to the questions from SOC Meeting #1
*Q: Pride would love to collaborate some clubs this year. Could you suggest
any clubs that fit within Pride's profile? *
A: Every club can collaborate with Pride! If anyone is interested to
collaborate, please let the Pride officers know – this would be an awesome
opportunity! They’re lovely people and you can reach Martha and Saskia at
pride at guild.uwa.edu.au
*Q: Are there any membership database solutions you could suggest? *
A: QPay or MailChimp!
*Q: Where can I find the I'm alert food safety online course?*
A: The events team deals with everything events related so please email
them for the link at events at guild.uwa.edu.au (sorry I literally don't
know and haven't been able to get a response about it -Taco ).
*Q: How to go about getting a club space this year and who do we need to
approach? *
A: We don’t have any clubroom available at the moment. We will let you
know if there are any openings soon. However, we do have mailboxes and
storage spaces that are available for the year.
*Q: Will slides be sent afterwards? *
A: We will send the slides and the minutes together after every SOC/PAC
meeting
*Q: Is it compulsory for each Club to choose a bottle of alcohol to hang
for the tavern memorabilia? *
A: No. It is only an initiative by the Tav to recognise and showcase your
club. If you have any other memorabilia you want to display, please email
elise.dehaas at guild.uwa.edu.au to arrange this!
*Q: Where does everyone gets their Club stickers made? *
A: You can get stickers made from UniPrint. It may take a few days,
depending on how busy they are. Sober gets theirs from Fast Printing,
others get theirs from Perth Graphics Centre in Malaga, others from
http://www.stickers.net.au/

so
cheap ($30 for 250 stickers and Australian owned).
*Q: If I completed student leadership training last year is it still valid
this year? *
A: Yes
*Q: Will there be food at future SOC/PAC meetings?*
A: We will try our best and provide food at every meeting. The first
meeting didn’t have food as it was provided later at the Networking Night
straight afterwards.
*Q: What happens if an exec member is non responsive, literally never? *
A: Consider talking to that executive about non-club related stuff,
and seeing if you can get through to them. If not, check your constitution
and see what the process for replacing an executive is and go about getting
that exec replaced if they become a disadvantage to your club and don’t
fulfil their expected duties. (Or come talk to Taco and we can sort it
out).
*Q: We are considered a FacSoc but also a club how do we change our status
to just a FacSoc? *
A: You'll have to talk with Lincoln about submitting an application to the
Education Council to argue your case to become a FACSOC
*Q: Will disability access come to Cameron Hall soon? *
A: This issue has been flagged and we understand how much of a priority is.
The higher ups in the Uni and Guild are also aware of this problem and we
understand the need for an elevator in Cameron Hall. It's a very costly
operation and requires a lot of bureaucracy, but I'm working on it and
chipping away at the Uni block.
*Q: I am a new treasurer and don't have a netsuite login, how do I get one?*
A: You would have to talk to the Guild Finance Desk and they can give you
the password either in person or via email at finance at guild.uwa.edu.au
*Q: Who decides how much money is given back from grants? *
A: Jacob the Treasurer and the SOC Grants team, usually on a Saturday spent
in Bob Nicholson room with snacks and energy drinks to keep us going. The
final OK is given by Taco. Items that can/cannot be reclaimed in grant
money is outlined in Treasurer Training and on the Guild Website
*Q: Do treasures still need to complete the treasurer training if they've
already done it last semester?*
A: Yes. All treasurers must complete Treasurer Training in 2019.
*Q: We don't have a treasurer yet, what do we do about online treasurer
training?*
A: Choose someone to be the stand in treasurer for now, and get them to
understand how it all works so your club is not left hanging. And vote
one in as soon as possible!
*Q: Our club doesn't have a secretary what do we do? *
A: Choose someone to be the stand in secretary for now, and get them to
understand how it all works so your club is not left hanging. And vote one
in as soon as possible! Or change the current officer position to secretary
and remove that position at the next agm by changing your constitution.
*Q: Do clubs have to worry about FBT when fundraising for example with
fundraising chocolates or barbeques? *
A: No, you shouldn’t need to unless you’re not running it through the
Guild. Email finance at guild.uwa.edu.au to be 100% sure about this one.
That's all from me, remember the next SOC meeting: 10th April (not Wilsmore
or Tattersall - most probably Alexander Lecture Theatre. Will confirm
shortly)
xoxo
Taco
