Hi all,
I opened up the coke machine this evening to find a coke zero can has
exploded (the can has been ripped in half!) in the bottom of the machine.
This needs to be cleaned up before it does damage, but unfortunately I'm
not here long enough to do the job.
The machine will have to be powered off, the left drink slide unscrewed
(and maybe the right one too), and everything wiped down. A little water
will have to be flushed through the drain pipe then the water tray
emptied, and each of the solenoids and sensors in the area will have to be
checked as clean. Finally the cooling fans under the can stacks may need
cleaning, and possibly removing and rinsing with distilled water.
I suspect this happened because coke zero hasn't got the sugar content of
the other cans, so it's something we just need to be aware of. The problem
may have been exascerbated by the fact that the can was directly in the
path of one of the fans.
I know it's not the most glamourous job in the world, but it really needs
to be done ASAP to avoid damaging the machine...any takers?
